Numa conversa com uma muito querida amiga minha, a Liliana Martins-Caneco, ao falarmos de saudades (estamos a viver em países diferentes), de rirmos com características dos "nossos" países, dos nossos trabalhos, do nosso dia a dia, deste período do mundo e de toda esta roleta russa que se tem vivido, ela presenteia-me com a seguinte ideia - criar um Gift Pack que proporcionasse a quem o recebe, um pouco de Portugal.
Porquê? Porque ela está com muitas saudades de "cá" e receber um mimo que lhe traga à memória recordações da família, aromas de comida ou cheiros das terras portuguesas, tornaria este tempo, já longo, sem vir até Portugal, um pouco menos doloroso.
Guardei esse sentimento e pensei como toda esta fase que vivemos é ainda mais difícil de passar, quando a distância das nossas casas não é só ali a uns kms. E se eu criasse essa pequenina caixa de detalhes?
Que objectos é que me fazem sentir Portugal?
Pequenina "caixa" de Detalhes Portugueses

Saco de pano - feito à mão com muito amor pelo Amo-te Mil Milhões. Quem é que não olha para ele e não se lembra dos avós? Felizmente o tempo nisso voltou atrás e cada vez mais estamos a utilizar os sacos de panos, que sendo reutilizáveis, ajudam a proteger a nossa Casa maior. Esta marca foi criada por Virgínia Otten em 2008 e desde então que nos habitua a enternecer e a voltar à infância com os seus bonecos de pano, babetes e tantos outros objectos.
Rolha com decoração em cerâmica - esta pequena peça guarda em si tantas estórias portuguesas: a cerâmica, a sardinha, a rolha de cortiça, o vinho e com tudo isso as memórias de se ser português, qual formato em OROBORO de um ciclo em eterno retorno. A Rita Guerra é a ceramista deste trabalho, com atelier próprio situado na margem sul do Tejo, a Rita utiliza técnicas do século XVI para fazer os seus azulejos, mas cria outros mundos em outros formatos também.
Sabonete artesanal Casa Brava - este chama-se Origem da Terra e é de Azeite bio e alfarroba bio - feito à mão, em pequenas séries com produtos locais biológicos, seguindo o processo ancestral de saponificação a frio e embrulhados em papel reciclado, garanto-vos que vão amar. Eu não gosto de sabonetes, mas passei a usar este. Será descrição suficiente? A pele fica tão macia, o aroma é tão delicioso! A Casa Brava é um projecto, de Marco Pinto e Julie Pereira, que segue a filosofia Slow & Eco-friendly. Cansados do frenesim de Paris decidiram voltar para Portugal, mais propriamente para o Algarve. Não se vão arrepender em descobrir o Bed & Breakfast Casa Brava (com pequeno almoço vegan) e a Loja, ambos em Loulé.
Fotografia - observo esta imagem e vejo a riqueza dos detalhes, este é mesmo o reflexo da essência da alma lisboeta. Uma das características do trabalho de Fabrice R. Pinto é a mensagem que passa nos pequenos detalhes. No trabalho de F.R. Pinto temos de verdadeiramente olhar e ver. Autor de videoclipes e curta-metragens, esse ambiente cinematográfico passa também para as suas fotografias.

During a conversation with my dear friend Liliana Martins-Caneco, while talking about "saudades" (cause she lives in a different country), about the characteristics of the countries where we live, about our jobs, daily life and this crazy time, she gave me the idea to create a Gift Pack that would feel like we got a bit of the portuguese soul on it.
Why?
Because she is missing "home" and she would love to receive something that would bring her memories of this country, scents of these lands and our food.
I immediately started imagine which objects would remind me of Portugal and make me feel that the distance would be a bit shorter.

Gift Pack - Portuguese Details
- a textile bag for bread (by Amo-te Mil Milhões)
- a winestopper - sardine shape (by My Portuguese Tiles)
- an artisanal soap (local organic products by Casa Brava)
- a photography (black and white, 15x20cm by Fabrice R. Pinto)
- Bread Bag - handmade with heart and soul by Amo-te Mil Milhões. When a portuguese looks at this tissue bags we immediately remember our grandmothers buying bread, or us, as little ones running down the street with fresh bread. Fortunately this use is becoming fashionable again and with this simple gestures we take care of our Home! This company was created by Virginia Otten in 2008 and since then she amazes us with her handmade dolls and objects.
- Winestopper - this small piece contains so much of the portuguese soul: cork, wine, ceramics, sardines - so many worlds! The ceramist who created this piece is Rita Guerra, the person behind My Portuguese Tiles project. She has a studio on the south bank of the Tagus River, there she produces different ceramic pieces and tiles, but using the same technique as during the 16th century.
- Artisanal Soap - this one is called Origins of the Land and it's made of organic olive oil and carob. These soaps are handmade according to an ancestral technique using a cold process. They do small series and use only local organic products. They are wrapped in recycled paper and I garantee you will love them. I do not like soaps, but I love these ones!! Is this enough reason to try them? The skin gets so soft and the scent is so good. Casa Brava is the Slow & Eco-friendly project of Marco Pinto and Julie Pereira. After living a frenetic life in Paris they decided to make the Big change and move to the Algarve and start living according to the philosophy they love. They have a Bread & Breakfast and a Store, both in Loulé.
- Photography - I look at this image and I see so many lovely details, this is really the essence of the lisbon soul. One of the characteristics of Fabrice R. Pinto work is the attention to the details, they are the ones that tell you the story. When looking at his work we really must look and see. F.R. Pinto is the author of several music videos and short films and this cinematography is present in his pictures.
